Alone - Balance - Orium & Shields
Howdy,
So this week I finally finished off the weapon rebalancing.
So let's take a quick look at some of the new Orium based weaponry
They otherwise work exactly the same as the other weapons, just better.
So, with those working, I finally implemented two handed weapons
Two handed weapons, like the greatsword shown above, do quite a bit of damage and are really accurate, but of course this means you have to go without a shield.
Which brings us to... shields.
Unlike weapons, there isn't much to choose at when it comes to shields. There are 5 different kinds of shields, and each of them gives you a progressively larger bonus to not being hit - at the cost of ... well, materials. The better the shield, the rarer the materials needed to make it.
Of course, some enemies will drop shields, but shields of low quality come with a penalty as a trade-off. They're so unbalanced they'll make it harder for you to hit things - giving you an accuracy penalty when using them.
On the other hand, if you go with the higher quality ones - they'll even serve as additional protection - supplementing the bonus you'll get from your armour.
Which brings us to armour (this week the segues are top class), which is what I'm working on, and should have done next week.
